Get ready for the Nordstrom Scent Event!
What is the Scent Event?
April 8th is the kickoff for discovering new must-haves or all about stocking up on your signature scent. There will be tiered options as well, so you can try out the sample bar AND enjoy gift with purchase offerings. This is happening nationwide, but for me, I'm headed to Nordstrom at the Domain Northside (3111 Palm Way, Store #733, Austin, TX 78758). They bring the delight, so be sure to arrive on time. The event starts tomorrow, when the store opens Sunday 12pm-6pm. The Scent Event will last through April 14th. Regular store hours Mon-Sat are 10am-9pm.
Which ones caught my attention? Here's my list!
- Le Labo - Another 13; $183-$270- This fragrance has 13 ingredients, which include a synthetic musk, ambroxan. It's fresh breath of moss, jasmine, and ambrette seeds give me life. It's time to rejoice: this fragrance is finally available and ready for you to add to your collection. It lingers and I can't stop thinking about it. (See Amber at the Nordstrom Domain Northside for mixing your personal blend.)
- Tory Burch - Just Like Heaven; $108-$138- Ok, my friend Amber and I kept making The Cure jokes, but this seriously has one of the most delicious scents. I had no idea how much the hyacinth struck a chord with me. (Then again, I'm always a sucker for floral-citrus blends. Florida problems hehe :) ) It triggers so many memories. For Amber, she recalled its essence of New Orleans. I personally think of a fresh garden back in South Florida. It's amazing how a scent can connect to feelings, places, and things. Intriguingly enough, Tory Burch notes that this fragrance brings "a view of the new and the familiar", and I cannot agree more. Try this one, and let me know what it reminds you of after sampling it.
- Jo Malone (cologne)- Bringing back this limited edition trio: Blossom Girls- Plum, Sakura Cherry Blossom, and Nashi; $140- Two of the three colognes haven't been sold in 4 years, so if these subtle and uplifting scents speak to your nose, grab a bottle or two. I tend to hoard my favorite fragrances and colognes, because we all get that FOMO when it gets discontinued, sold out, or the formula changes. (We can't have nice things, I guess! Haha, I kid, but change is great to switch it up every once in a while.) My rating between all 3 (1 being my favorite and 3 as I liked it, but not enough to buy it): 3: Sakura Cherry Blossom, 2: Plum Blossom, and 1: Nashi (Pear) Blossom.
- Tom Ford - Fucking Fabulous, $310- Don't let the number order get you twisted! I couldn't put these into any particular order, but wow-- this one is totally worth the splurge. It has all of my earthy favorites in one: clary sage, lavender, bitter almond, and vanilla. The warm scent is truly "intoxicating and supple", but I'll let you open it up and decide for yourself. After all, you are "fucking fabulous", too, you know. :)
